Title: Alliance Manifesto 11/09

QUOTE
From the Desk of the First Citizen.
(In his condo in Parhelion)

My Allies:

There follows a clarification and authorization of the views of The Alliance.  I, the First Citizen, Carl Miller, have examined these proposals and statements and found them worthy of the betterment of Ostentia.

Yours,

Carl Miller MP,

First Citizen of The Alliance.

I now write the following aspects of our manifesto, which we will pursue in government.

1. Health -- We believe that there cannot exist a public health service without a private component.

2. Education -- We believe that there should exist a national certification board for schools and universities in order to ensure that all schools, public and private, provide the same quality of education.

3. The Economy -- We must ensure that its economy is not crippled by Acts of Parliament within or by trade problems from without.

4. Law and Order -- We must ensure that the police of Ostentia are able to maintain peace and enforce the law with minimal risk of injury or death to those who have not committed a crime.  To that end, we are committed to research into nonlethal disabling weaponry.

5. Social Affairs -- We believe that the social affairs of Ostentia are good in their current form and that no change is needed.

6. The Environment -- We believe that we must preserve the environment in order to ensure that this planet is livable for future generations of human and animal.

7. Foreign Affairs -- We believe that the threat posed by Assym must be neutralized, either with a treaty or with war.  We are committed to pursuing formal relations with and exploring the rest of the world.

8. Defense -- We are committed to having a large standing military and pursuing military agreements with our allies should war be declared.

Yours,

Carl Miller MP,

First Citizen of The Alliance.

What's that supposed to mean, this is probably CJMiller's least controversial manifesto yet.

Banning public healthcare?

Wanting to go to war as a possibility with Assym and announcing that publically?

Wanting to increase (however you interpret 'large standing defence force') military spending?

That's all I based it on. It was in jest after all.

He doesn't even say there can't be public healthcare, just not public healthcare with a private component.

Carl Miller - November 19, 2009 05:56 PM (GMT)
Point 1 fix'd :cc0:

I meant to put "without a private component", but the "out" disappeared into lag-land.

Problem: A public healthcare system DOES exist with no private sector. Your beliefs mean squat :P...

cannot = not physically possible.

If one exists therefore then it can exist. Can is a negation of can not. Therefore if one exists then your belief is wrong. One does exist. Your beliefs are wrong. QED.
