Title: Prime Minister's Questions

Pokemaniac John - October 9, 2009 07:48 PM (GMT)
This is the parliamentary question time for questions to the Prime Minister.

Members of the Commons may question the Prime Minister on any issue relating to his department. Each member is limited to one question per week.

This House recognises DynamoJax as the Prime Minister, and requests that he answers all questions posed to him.

This House recognises Inevitable as the Leader of the Opposition, and as such grants him the right to ask six questions per week.

The government may only be asked to answer one question at a time - no new questions may be submitted until the previous one has been answered. If the government does not answer, action may be taken by the speaker of the commons.

I therefore open this session with the following question:

Will the Prime Minister please tell us of his department's aims for this session of parliament?

DynamoJax - October 10, 2009 04:39 PM (GMT)
Our domestic aims is to improve the economy and environment, in which the expansion of the MRFA and the License Plate Decorum Act of 2009 are two big steps in doing so. With additional room and tools to recycle additional items that were normally dumped, we hope that the fly-tipping problem (especially in Enchiridion) abates somewhat. For the Plate Decorum Act, states have a chance to make a little additional money to their coffers, which will "percolate up" to the federal level as those monies help improve state economies.

Our foriegn and security affairs are currently of most concern, as no matter how solid your domestic situation is, if you have no country to run, there is no need for a domestic situation. Therefore, we are working on the construction of a bill that would devise Ostentia's armed forces with three permanent branches (Air Force, Coast Guard and National Guard) and two branches that can be activated at any time for expeditions outside Ostentia (Army, Navy). This will begin to end the nebulous aura around our security, and work towards securing the nation.

The Prime Minister has informed us of the specific policies he wishes to pursue, but can he tell us what he actually stands for?

Pokemaniac John - October 10, 2009 06:20 PM (GMT)
I thank the minister for his answer and open this session to the house.

On the current global crisis: Our stance is for a peaceful solution to the crisis in as expedient of a manner as possible of which the terms are acceptable to all parties. Should a peaceful solution cannot be found and the use of military force is required, our stance is to mainly to use the armed forces in a defensive manner, including the protection of all countries invested with us in a Mutual Defence pact, especially if they are attacked and/or will be invaded with a qualified invasion force.
An outright stance of offence is not accepted in all cases save one: When no other option to neutralize any real, materialised, militaristic threat exists or has been exhausted.

As for domestic causes: I stand for a normalization of our economy pending the end of the crisis. Regardless, we also stand for retaining as much of the pre-conflict economy as much as possible. We hope to continue to improve Ostentia's economy even in these trying times, both directly and indirectly. The License Plate Decorum act is one of these "indirect impact" bills.

The environment is also of concern. Approximately several weeks ago, I received a letter from a concerned citizen in my constituency, asking what I would do to address "fly-tipping", an activity that can have profound impact on our environment. By passing the Expansion of MRFA act, the number of materials each state recycling center can recycling is increased, and now they have the tools to strip away recyclable parts from items that include non-recyclable parts as well. This is a major step and positive deterrent to fly-tipping, and we hope that this development will go a long way towards ending the practice of fly-tipping.

Finally: The education of our students remains a top priority. We hope to continue the trend of making the Ostentian Education system more competitive with the world, without sacrificing internal competition or identity. One such plan is to decrease the costs of education, especially higher-level education.

I know this answer is not entirely exhaustive, but I will be willing to answer more if asked.
