Title: Nine Network Election Night, September 2009
Description: 9/09 Ostentian State and Federal results

DynamoJax - September 20, 2009 11:27 PM (GMT)
GARY LOCKE FAYE: Good evening Ostentians. The voting is almost over, the votes are about to be counted, and 180 fortunate candidates will benefit by becoming members of a House of Commons headed by the Twentieth Prime Minister of Ostentia. Already some states are showing a blowout, while others remain too close to call. We'll also have statewide assembly results throughout the night. All this and more on the Nine Network's Election Night!

FAYE: Hello, I'm Gary Locke Faye. I'm the controller of the Nine Network, but instead of being behind the scenes, I'm only too happy to return back to what I love doing in the first place (at least for tonight, that is): Presenting. Today I'll be joined by Dale Wright-Rain and Colm O'Hanlon who will help present results, analysis and other colorful, yet clean remarks.

Are we assuming then that we're getting this on a heavy time delay :P ?...

Commoncold0 - September 21, 2009 12:22 AM (GMT)
Just say security concerns led to a delayed count of non-primeministerial votes. ;)

DynamoJax - September 21, 2009 04:10 AM (GMT)
FAYE: Now before we really begin, we have had delays in the declaration of some of the results, especially in one state. Which state is it, let's find out....

Very slow loading...

And you were up even earlier than me!

(even more OOC: and I've got to finish packing, go down to the station and catch a train at 8:54)

Cieran - September 21, 2009 09:33 AM (GMT)
Well technically he was up late, not early. 5:10 BST is 11:10 (I think) Texas time :P...

Carl Miller - September 21, 2009 03:27 PM (GMT)
It's 12:10 AM in all but Hudspeth and El Paso counties, where it's 11:10 PM.

DynamoJax - September 25, 2009 03:20 AM (GMT)
OOC: I apologize for the lateness and EXTREME delay of these results. State Results will not have graphics due to the lateness, but we'll make this work. I did not anticipate this past week or so of a load of work, so I doubt seriously I'll do another results show until either December or January. This gives CJ Miller/Inevitable/CC0 or any combination a couple of shots. I plan on doing this all on Friday night, as it's very late Thursday (as of latest edit)

Carl Miller - September 25, 2009 04:11 PM (GMT)
I claim the October 09 Election Night Special for onTV.

OOC: TGIF eh Kay?

Cieran - September 25, 2009 04:23 PM (GMT)
Um...not okay. There IS no ITV. I thought you used Seven anyway?...

Carl Miller - September 25, 2009 04:29 PM (GMT)
D'oh :)

Fixed.

Cieran - September 25, 2009 04:30 PM (GMT)
I don't even think onTV does election nights =/...

Carl Miller - September 25, 2009 04:41 PM (GMT)
Oh, the times, they are a-changin'...

Cieran - September 25, 2009 04:46 PM (GMT)
It's more a general entertainment channel than a new one though...

QUOTE (Carl Miller @ Sep 25 2009, 11:11 AM)
I claim the October 09 Election Night Special for onTV.

OOC: TGIF eh Kay?

OOC: (To CJMiller): Yup.

FAYE: The recounts in Fondrop are due to the fact that exit polls showed that the votes appeared to be very narrow in at least 7 seats, so those constituencies have agreed to a recount in any sense to ensure without a doubt the actual winner is correct.

But now, we have our first state ready to declare! And it is:

The Midlands, which goes to the Coalition by a whopping thirty percent! The Coalition is officially off to a great start, but whether or not they win several critical states. Colm, what are these states?

O'HANLON: Gary, these states are the following: For starters, Oredia. Oredia is a state with statewide parties, and the winner of this state for at least the past two elections have gone on to win the election. Another state is Valaxia. Valaxia is quite an independent-minded state, and it will be fairly close. The winner of Valaxia will likely have a good chance of winning the election. Dale Wright-Rain, what are the must-do's for each party to win?

WRIGHT-RAIN: Firstly, for the Coalition: They must expand beyond the stronghold of the states in the Mearor regions. AAPA is traditionally strong in Agnasium and Enchiridion, and has had some successes in Thorby. The CCP has clearly claimed Epiphany as it's capital of support, and has considerable support elsewhere.

Secondly, for the Boo Party: They MUST hold Boondoxia. If either Mentagnus or Olin falls to the Coalition, it's a done deal. In order to even have a realistic shot to win, Boo will need one or two more states, likely a Valaxia and one or both of the Nashun states of Yare and Thorby.

Thirdly, for the Alliance: A bad voting cycle has probably obliterated the party. They must try and hold seats where they can, as it appears there isn't much hope to win, at least on this go around.

Finally: Statewide parties are key to victory or defeat. A strong performance could deprive national parties of seats, while a weak performance could lead to domination for one party in the Commons.

FAYE: Thanks Colm and Dale. Now we have yet another state to declare, a state that could be interesting...

And Northern Isles stays with the Seperatists, but the Coalition has picked up ground to keep the election result fairly close, close enough to tie the Seperatists for the lead in seats. Plus, "Pokemaniac" John Sermon is going absolutely nowhere except straight back to the Commons, without passing GO and collecting 200 Hemres, but his job as Speaker once again. Boo had a slightly surprising turnout here as well, perhaps the Coalition might be in for a nail biter.

We'll be right back, this time with some state assembly results!
