To the Speaker, the Cabinet, Members of the Opposition, Independents, Regional parties, the Press and the people of Ostentia, the reason for this press conference today is being of a landmark decision between the Government's and the Opposition Leaders, Mr Kay 'DynamoJax' Jackson representative parties, the Centrist Conservative Party and the Ad Astra Per Aspera Party respectively.

A while ago, I met with the Opposition Leader behind closed doors to discuss what we feel the future of Ostentia is. We have great respect for each other, and we both feel that our parties have similar ideologies. Given this, after some deliberation and settlement of terms, that after this term the CCP and AAPA will be running on a powerful coalition platform, led by the current Opposition Leader, Mr Kay 'DynamoJax' Jackson.

As the 2 leading parties of Ostentia, this will allow proportional representation, and will lead to more consensus-based politics. Whilst on some aspects, the CCP and AAPA differ, in many others we are the same. Given that the CCP and AAPA have similar ideologies, and also given our popularity, the coalition Government would better reflect the popular opinion of Ostentia.

Finally, this coalition will be known as AAPA-CCP Coalition.

I open the floor to questions from Members of the Press and Ministers.

Too few? We still have 3...

And besides, any development that makes a "Government of Enemies" like this current one less likely can only be a good thing.

Sir William Buttersworth - September 2, 2009 11:34 AM (GMT)
It's only a Government of Enemies to you because you keep slandering it. The Government has done no wrong, you just keep inventing slander and having someone leak information of little relevance to you.

Bah, *invokes 11th commandment*. :tophat:

Anyways, by government of enemies I was refferring to the fact that you have a communist deputy who opposes pretty much everything you stood for at the last election. It wasn't a reference to anything involving Assym.

Sir William Buttersworth - September 2, 2009 11:41 AM (GMT)
Oh right. Carry on then, have a complimentary muffin and cup of tea.

I don't have an opinion... I just came for the free food.

Gives HRH a complementary baked good of his choice from the merger celebrations.
