An Act to provide a definition of death for the purposes of the law of Ostentia.
SECTION 1 (DEFINITION OF DEATH):
For the purposes of the law of Ostentia, a person has died when there has occurred—
( a ) irreversible cessation of all function of the brain of the person; or
( b ) irreversible cessation of circulation of blood in the body of the person.

Yup, have to define this for my next bill which will be up in about 10 minutes. Writing it now.
Edit: Also, we have to have this because nothing at the moment stops someone claiming they died (as in heart attack) and then are resuscitated to collect life insurance etc.

Surely any court would throw out such a claim?
Ah, but without a definition of death my good man, it can be argued they technically 'died'. This is a technical bill which just defines death.
