Members of parliament, the press and the public at large, I have summoned you here today to the Foreign office to announce that Ostentia and Exilia have approved a mutual defence pact between our two countries.

In these troubled times with the threat of Assym looming ever greater, this pact was a neccessity for both our countries to remain strong in the face of adversity. Such a union creates a defensive naval power bloc sorely needed to keep Assym in check. If Exilia were to fall to Assym, Ostentia would not be far behind, due to the key naval location of Exilia. With this pact a further deterrant is created against Assymian agression on the high seas and both of our countries become a little more secure.
