Title: Transport Spending Review

Commoncold0 - July 14, 2009 11:11 AM (GMT)
I hereby announce that the Transport Spending Review has been completed, with the shocking conclusion that 50% of the entire Transport Budget (currently at 12 units) was being lost to bureaucracy and waste. The new revised figure for the required amount of Transport spending is 6 units. I have been assured the persons responsible for this catastrophic waste of taxpayers money will be disciplined.

This of course concludes my original role within the government, and an announcement on my future shall be made within the next few days.

I thank you for your review. This may even allow a deeper cut in taxes that originally imagined.

Or alternatively it provides you with more money to spend on useful things. :)

I second the motion.

Mandatory Silly Hat days!...

Hey, I said may, not will.

In all actuality, I doubt very seriously that other than shifting funding, that any drastic changes will be made. We do have six more units, so the idea must exist, but it doesn't mean it will be acted upon.

Could try a rebate or something. It'd undoubtedly increase your popularity...

Hmm... A one off rebate (that can be renewed)... sounds pretty intriguing.

To be honest, to cut the tax rate by three percent (3x 2 units each percent due to Economy Rating) would be inane, insane and absolutely looking for trouble (and Ostentia has plenty of that right now!). Seriously, I pondered going for two percent for about all of 1 second before deciding that if a cut was to happen, it'll be one percent, that's it. But this idea presented by Cieran would accomplish all of the good things of a tax cut without the worrying about the permanence factor. That way, we can continue it month by month as desired. Good Idea!

Ostentia has plenty of trouble?! What issues are we in?

DynamoJax - July 15, 2009 02:04 AM (GMT)
We're still trying to finish cleaning up the stuff left over (and behind) by the impostors, and get things going underway after a snap election. Nothing overtly bad, but need to remain cautiously optimistic.

Well there was a bridge or something blown up in the coup wasnt there? We havent sorted that out.

Cieran - July 15, 2009 03:29 PM (GMT)
Anything damaged was healed with a bill soon afterwards. Funding has already been attributed...

Following the conclusion of the transport review, I have decided to step down from the cabinet. Although I have been asked to stay on in an advisory capacity, I shall cease to be a minister and should therefore no longer be considered representative of the government. I would like to thank the prime minister for giving me the opportunity to conclude the transport review, and I wish him the best of luck with the remainder of his term in office.
