Title: Prime Minister's Questions

Pokemaniac John - May 2, 2009 03:45 PM (GMT)
This is the parliamentary question time for questions to the Prime Minister.

Members of the Commons may question the Prime Minister on any issue relating to his department. Each member is limited to one question per week.

This House recognises Inevitable as the Prime Minister, and requests that he answers all questions posed to him.

This House recognises Cieran as the Leader of the Opposition, and as such grants him the right to ask six questions per week.

The government may only be asked to answer one question at a time - no new questions may be submitted until the previous one has been answered. If the government does not answer, action may be taken by the speaker of the commons.

I therefore open this session with the following question:

Will the Prime Minister please tell us of his department's aims for this session of parliament?

Inevitable - May 2, 2009 06:25 PM (GMT)
This term, the Boo Party hopes to focus on matters of national security. With our explorers heading further and further North, there is an ever-increasing chance that we'll encounter this enemy we've heard so much about.

Due to the corruption of the Declaration of International Neutrality, Ostentia may no longer be as secure as we once were. As such, we feel it's important to prepare the nation for any disasters that may strike us, without introducing increases to our military budget.

Pokemaniac John - May 2, 2009 06:35 PM (GMT)
I thank the minister for his answer and open this session to the house.

Cieran - May 2, 2009 09:33 PM (GMT)
Exactly how do you plan to prepare the nation for these strikes?...

Inevitable - May 2, 2009 10:00 PM (GMT)
Such questions are best directed at the Ministry of Peace. I do know of plans to implement a warning system around the country, again however, I suggest you ask Mr. Buttersworth for more information.

What do you mean by the corruption of the Declaration of International Neutrality, as you've always supported it before?

I did not support HRH's ammendment, which essentially ignored the purpose of the original. That's what I mean by corrupted.

Sir William Buttersworth - May 4, 2009 02:15 AM (GMT)
Glorious Prime Minister, can you please tell us the failings of the previous DSLP government, and how Boo will help Ostentia bring itself up from the burning heap that DSLP left us in?

Cieran - May 4, 2009 10:43 AM (GMT)
POINT OF ORDER :tophat: !

Such a question is clearly a direct attack on my person and an attempt to block any further questioning!...

Sir William Buttersworth - May 4, 2009 10:48 AM (GMT)
POINT OF ORDER (man with hat, I'm using fast reply) !

It is an attack on the previous Government, not a personal attack. The question may go on. (in my opinion)

plqx - May 4, 2009 12:18 PM (GMT)
This question is legitimate.

OOC: there was actually a very similar question in PMQs a couple of weeks ago - might even have been last week, and I am assuming what is legitimate there is legitimate here too.

Cieran - May 4, 2009 12:20 PM (GMT)
Still, I fail to see Ostentia as a "burning heap". And it wasn't a DLSP government, it was a DLSP-Federalist coalition -_-...

Inevitable - May 4, 2009 01:54 PM (GMT)
We at the Boo Party love our friends, the DSLP, in opposition.

We think they are a fine party who are generally ok, though they lack the Glory of the Boo Party.

Their failing last term was to appoint an Evil Capitalist onto the cabinet. They were sadly tricked by his promises, and though they initially raised taxes like all Good Parties do, they were later cut, much to Boo's dismay.

Since the Boo Party continuously claims that the recession is over, then obviously the former administration was effective in office at improving the economic situation. That deserves congratulations and accolades.

Nicely done!

Collation does not equal causation...

HRH King Zog II - May 4, 2009 05:20 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (sqeak @ May 4 2009, 05:51 PM)
Collation does not equal causation...

Indeed. Instead collation is the act process or result of collating, which is 1 a: to compare critically b: to collect, compare carefully in order to verify, and often to integrate or arrange in order2 [Latin collatus, past participle] : to institute (a cleric) to a benefice3 a: to verify the order of (printed sheets) b: to assemble in proper order ; especially : to assemble (as printed sheets) in order for binding

The ruling party is always praised or admonished for what happens during their administration, even if they themselves had nothing to do with it. For instance, in the United States, George Bush the Elder was praised for ending the Cold War. My thinking is that he really did not have anything to do with the collapse of the Soviet Union, it simply happened while he was in office. Also, Herbert Hoover was blamed for the stock market crash in 1929, although he had just taken office and had nothing to do with the economic collapse.
